New Opportunity for Eastern Street Methadone Clinic

Hong Kong’s The Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme offers exciting opportunities to transform historic sites. As Batch 7 kicks off, one building stands out – the Eastern Street Methadone Clinic. This building, which we have worked on over the years, now presents a great chance for NGOs to apply for its revitalisation.

With solid experience in revitalising historic buildings, we have successfully supported NGOs through the competitive Stage 1 application process for several high-profile projects, including Tai Tam Tuk, King Yin Lei, the Former North Kowloon Magistracy, and Watervale House. Our team excels in creating detailed heritage justifications, interpretation plans, costings, and business models, providing a solid foundation for successful applications.
Beyond the initial submission stage, we continue to provide support during the execution phase. We are currently acting as the heritage architect for King Yin Lei’s revitalisation (Batch 6) and contribute to the Repair and Maintenance Works for Lui Seng Chun (Batch 1). Our extensive experience helps ensure that each project is executed with a deep respect for the building’s heritage values and resilience under climate change, balanced with sustainable renewal.
Eastern Street Methadone Clinic, with its rich history and distinctive architecture, offers great potential for revitalisation and responsible retrofit solutions that enhance the climate resiliency of this important historic asset. With a deep understanding of the building, having conducted multiple heritage impact assessments over the years, our HK office can help NGOs develop robust proposals that respect the building’s historical significance while offering long-term sustainable new uses.
