In the press: University of Cambridge names teams for £80m framework
Purcell are delighted to be continuing our relationship with the University of Cambridge and their world-famous estate through our selection for the University Estates Division’s new Consultant Framework.
We have been appointed as Architects on the Minor works lot (up to £1.8m) on the University of Cambridge's Estates Division Professional Services Framework (A), whilst also working in partnership with NBBJ Architects on the major works lot (projects above £7.2m), as reported in the Architects' Journal.
Our appointment to the framework will mark the latest in a series of works by Purcell at the University and its Colleges, following our provision of Heritage Consultancy services for the Grade II-listed University Library design by Giles Gilbert Scott, the conservation of Wilkins Hall for Kings College and more recently, the Buttery at St John’s College, on which we worked as Conservation Architects alongside MCW Architects.
We look forward to working with the University to deliver future design, heritage and construction projects utilising our unique experience in creating sustainable, innovative and inspiring architecture within sensitive heritage contexts.
Reflecting on the successful framework appointment, Zoë Skelding, Partner in our Cambridge studio said 'Purcell are excited to be part of this incredible opportunity and are looking forward to working with the University in realising their vision for the estate’s future'.
Purcell’s successful appointment on the University of Cambridge’s framework reflects our focus on Higher Education as a key sector for the practice and follows our ongoing delivery of architectural services through the University of Oxford’s framework and our recent appointment to the consultant framework for the University of East Anglia.
