Purcell pioneer 3D technology for planning applications
Purcell is trialling the use of 3D technology as part of planning and DAC (diocesan advisory committee) applications.
Using a virtual reality headset, the architects are able to provide detailed, immersive views of their proposals. The first project that has utilised this technology was a proposal for a modern annexe to the Grade II listed Christ Church in East Sheen.
The client and local authority officer used the headset to experience an accurate first-person view of the proposal, gaining an understanding beyond what 2D drawings and renders can convey.
The headset has been developed by new tech start-up Visual-Wise. Purcell has recently partnered with them to develop the technology in a way that responds to the needs of the construction industry.
