Richard Battye
Richard joined Purcell as an Associate and Specification Writer based in the London Studio in 2023.
An architect since 2005, Richard brings in-depth experience of the design and delivery of a wide range of high-quality award-winning projects across varying project types and procurement routes, new-build and refurbishment.
As project architect for the refurbishment of Southbank Centre’s 1960s buildings, the Hayward Gallery, and Queen Elizabeth Hall Richard developed a great love for concrete, and continued finding joy in delivering buildings that really work for their users, front and back of house, and the society that they sit in.
Richard is keenly aware of the climate crisis and the role that architects must take in reducing the built environment’s impacts.
